The Story of an Righteous Man (cont..)
Chapter three
Job's friends come along. His wife has went astray. His friends are trying to figure out what is happening to their friend. During their conversations we learn things about they view wicked people as it relates to our circumstances.
During this time Job becomes tough on himself/ he even curses his self.
He doesn't understand why he hasn't died yet. he says bitter souls don't need life and all the things he dread has come upon him.
Job friends believe that innocent people do not suffer. The first response is Eliphaz.
He says innocent people do not perish
The upright are not destroyed only the wicked.
He says because God is just.
Anger slays the fool.
Jealousy kills the simple.
No man is born to trouble.
Oppressed people are guilty
No deliverance shall come because of their un lawful deeds.
I think his friends should have heard the conversation in heaven but no one knows what is happening except God. I like to think that a friend loves at all times. Maybe Job needed a hug.
Chapter 5
They tell him
Happy is the man God reproves (Job this is for your God)
Do not despise the discipline of the Lord
God inflicts pan and he gives relief
His hands will heal you.
He will deliver you.
He will redeem you.
His friends preach these wonderful words to him but I believe Job knew that he had not sinned but he listened to them. His mind deeply troubled.
