The Story of an Righteous Man (cont..)

Job Speaks from the anguish of His Soul.

He is seeking hope.

Bildad Returns;
  • "If you are pure and upright surely now he would rouse himself for you"
I believe that God helps all people but we keep seeing this recurring idea that you have to be right in order for God to help you. We also see that Job desires to repent but his conscious doesn't convict him but his friends does.  I believe the book of Job is a surprise to most people because Job is a righteous man and God makes sure to tell us that before we begin reading about all the terrible things that happen to Job. This story reveals that it is not about what we do and God trusted Job with those circumstances. Many people would have cursed God a long time ago. Cursing would mean saying that God is not good and speaking bad about him. Job did not do wrong but he did not find fault with God. He cursed life, himself, but he blessed God. God put him in the circumstances and we see that Job was a faithful man. God desires a pure heart.

Job seeks God,

"He says that there is no arbitrator between God and man"

  • Job is on the right path

    He says, "in truth I know that this is so; but how can a man be right before God"

    • This God we serve is so Holy no man measures up

      1. What man can be Holy under attack

        When things are good it is easy.

        But with boils, no good friends, and a mouthy wife who can stand.

        When a man is challenged we learn that he is just flesh.

        Job says, "He bruises me with a tempest and multiplies my wounds without a cause"

        Is this about power, justice, choices, Job seeks answers.

The Story of an Righteous Man (cont.)

Job's Friends are no help!

Chapter 6
Job, is tough. He begins to say, "Lord show me my fault so that I can repent." Picture God remaining quiet. Job prays, "Teach me, and I will be silent show me how I have erred. How painful are honest words."

No one knows his fault. His friends don't think much of him because of his circumstances. Job argues his case before God. His argument reveals his deep desire to please God, to make God happy. He is willing to say he is wrong even though he doesn't know what he has done. I understand why God loved Job so much what awesome character under intense circumstances.

Chapter 8
Bildad believes that God rewards the good only.
  • Bildad ask Job if his sons have sinned against the lord.
  • If you are upright then God will come to your rescue.
  • Consider the generations before you, maybe your fore fathers sinned.
  • Those that forget God paths are turned into hell.
  • have you had more faith in your house instead of God
Job's view on life change as he endures his circumstances.
  • man is force to labor on earth
  • man spends his life like a hired man
  • man acts like a slave in need of shade
  • his life is just a breath
  • man skin hardens and ruins.

Job's friends turn out to be wrong!

God moves into the picture!

God restores Job!

God blesses him with twice as much as he had before!

Job's deeper relationship with God is birthed!

The Story of Righteous Man (Cont)

In Job, we see a man who God allows to be directly attacked by Satan. You have to believe that God is real. Job knew that even though he was suffering his God was real and he remain faithful.

The Story of an Righteous Man (cont..)

Chapter three

Job's friends come along. His wife has went astray. His friends are trying to figure out what is happening to their friend. During their conversations we learn things about they view wicked people as it relates to our circumstances.

During this time Job becomes tough on himself/ he even curses his self.

He doesn't understand why he hasn't died yet. he says bitter souls don't need life and all the things he dread has come upon him.

Job friends believe that innocent people do not suffer. The first response is Eliphaz.

  1. He says innocent people do not perish

  1. The upright are not destroyed only the wicked.

  1. He says because God is just.

  1. Anger slays the fool.

  1. Jealousy kills the simple.

  1. No man is born to trouble.

  1. Oppressed people are guilty

  1. No deliverance shall come because of their un lawful deeds.

I think his friends should have heard the conversation in heaven but no one knows what is happening except God. I like to think that a friend loves at all times. Maybe Job needed a hug.

Chapter 5

They tell him

  1. Happy is the man God reproves (Job this is for your God)

  1. Do not despise the discipline of the Lord

  1. God inflicts pan and he gives relief

  1. His hands will heal you.

  1. He will deliver you.

  1. He will redeem you.

His friends preach these wonderful words to him but I believe Job knew that he had not sinned but he listened to them. His mind deeply troubled.

The book of Job is amazing. It is a story that troubles readers because Job is a righteous man who suddenly has a turn of fate. Job goes through such harsh things it makes me uncomfortable as a Christian. But as a New Testament believer we are not going to suffer a Job experience. Nor have any of us every experience such a fate. We know that in Chapter one the bible says he was a righteous man who feared God. He was respected and honored by God. But the book does not say that his wife, family, or friends are righteous people.

In the book of Job we also discover the profile of a wicked person. Job ungodly friends reveal exactly what the wicked look like when they accuse Job being a wicked man before God. They tell him he is suffering because of his wickedness. But we find that the opposite is taking place. How well do you know the book of Job and as we glance through it we are going to look at different perspectives.

Who is Job?
      We know that Job is righteous and fears God. What really happens in chapter one then?

Let’s outline those things around him. Job is the only one the bible says who feared God. Chapter one describes Job in verse 22 (chapter one) Job is blameless, upright, God fearing, he turns away from evil. He has seven sons, three daughters, and one wife. He possess 7,000 sheep’s, 3,000 camels, 500 yoke of oxen, 500 female donkeys, many servants, he is called one of the greatest men in the east. His lifestyle consisted of feasts that he sons would hold, the daughters were also invited to eat and drink, Job counsel them often, he rose early in the morning to offer burnt offerings, and Job sacrifice for his family often. He believed that they could have cursed God and he wanted to make sure to cover their sins.

      Job is blameless but his family is not but this true today some  people have unsaved loved and because you love God and God loves you he covers them. In verse 7 the view point changes to God and Satan. God asked Satan where have you been? Satan response is that he has been roaming around the earth looking for someone to devour. Thankfully Job was shielded from the enemy intentions. God really loved Job. No matter what we read after this we know that God gave Job a house, possessions, and a righteous life. God goes on to tell Satan have you considered my servant Job.

What is going in heaven?

God volunteers Job! I believe that God knew Job loved him and it was just a test.  The response is have you not put a hedge around him and since you gave him all these things of course he fears you but if you take away his things I am sure that he will curse you to his face. God removed the hedge and the enemy sets out.

Does Job compromise?
Does Job value things more?

     The enemy used the Chaldean's and Seabean's to destroy his possessions. These people are considered to be thieves and destructive individuals who lack respect for others property.  The young people were drinking and enjoying life when a storm blow through and claimed the property and the lives.
What is Job response?
     When Job heard the news he arose and tore his robe. He fell to the ground and worshiped, he said, “Naked I came from my mother’s womb, and naked I shall return there, the Lord gives and the Lord takes away, blessed be the name of the Lord.”  He did not sin and he didn’t blame God.
1.     The Lord gave the enemy permission but the Lord did not do it. It was just a test.
Research reveals that sometimes stress can cause our health to fail. We have marital problems, money problems, kid problems, we begin to internalize it and then it affects our health. We shut up our bones and our insides are agitated, there is a discomfort and it makes us sick. We are doing what is right but things are going wrong.

HEALTHY
*    It sucks to suffer
*    A good life is one that is happy
*    A bad life sucks
*    But we keep honoring God
*    God is watching
*    God is in control
*
UNHEALTHY
*    Become bad
*    Start doing bad
*    Turn away from God
*    Become frustrated
*    Hurt others because we are hurt
*    Abandon the truth
*    Allow the enemy to use us
*    These actions show that we dislike what God is doing and we are mad at him.

CHAPTER TWO
 Job loss of health

          Once again God lets Satan test Job. Satan asks again for permission but he ask if he can touch his body. Wasn’t it enough to touch his things. But Job continue to bless the Lord and Satan says now let's tried the body. In chapter two his wife enters into the story and she is not happy. A good wife supports her husband but Job’s wife seen him scraping his sores and she is disgusted. She says “why do you keep your integrity?” just curse God and die. It seems like she was keeping real with him. This situation sucks. But Job continued on doing the same things he response is “shall we indeed accept good from God, and not accept adversity” it also states that he did not sin with his lips.

Love is my Rainbow

Love is my rainbow

its fruits are colorful

peace is pink

joy is blue

relationships are golden.

happiness is purple.

fruitfulness is green.

salvation is white.

its roots cannot be trace!

we just see it hanging in the sky!

just like love it cannot touched but it can be felt.

and its power cannot be contained.

An abundant life is one that is free from the fear of man; free of strife; and free from the power of sin. We are all slaves to things at one point but with God we are free. An abundant life seeker must be able to accept their good and bad. Understanding the soul and the spirit and learning how be lead by the Holy Spirit even though one may miss the mark. It is a person who understands that there is only one perfect man (Jesus) and then we can spend more time simply praising him. We are not called to take on the pressure of life but we are asked to have faith in him and through him we reign in his victory and power.
