Literacy

Literacy is the ability to read and write and it is very important. Literacy boast the self esteem of individuals as they venture out into a world that requires individuals to know how read, speak, and write the English language. Some people make the mistake of thinking that language and literacy are the same thing but language differs from literacy. Language is the human capacity to use complex systems of communications.

Communication can be done through signs, looks, sounds, braille, writing, and body movement. Literacy is learning how to read and write so that we can have awesome lives! Individuals who are illiterate are able to speak but they are unable to read and write.
